Artissima 2026

At this year’s edition of Artissima in Turin, we are presenting a joint presentation by Pavla Malinová and Jakub Jansa in the Monologue/Dialogue section.

Although Pavla Malinová’s painting and Jakub Jansa’s film-based practice draw on distinct visual languages, they converge in many ways. Both artists approach reality as a fluid structure in which familiar motifs break free from their original contexts and take on new meanings. Through painting, Malinová creates distinctive visual worlds at the intersection of corporeality, imagination and abstraction, while Jansa develops fictional narratives in his film installations, exploring questions of identity, social hierarchies and mechanisms of power.

Their joint presentation is therefore not based on formal similarities, but rather on the tension between two distinct approaches to depicting, interpreting and questioning contemporary experience.nnWe look forward to seeing you at Artissima throughout the week.
