Magdalena Jetelová’s intervention, prepared in collaboration with Studio Lunchmeat and music producer Oliver Torr as the finale of the exhibition The Space Between, transformed the glass space of the KodlContemporary gallery into a sculptural medium for twenty minutes. Through light, sound, and visible airflow, the artist brought into view the invisible cultural, historical, and political forces that have long shaped the urban axis of Pařížská Street connecting the Old Town, the Vltava River, and Letná.

The intervention followed on from Jetelová’s earlier projects of marking space with red smoke from the 1980s, as well as the later event Stalin (2007) on Prague’s Letná. Oliver Torr’s sound composition was based on recordings made on Pařížská Street before the event and gradually blended with the current acoustic environment of the city. Together with Studio Lunchmeat’s light intervention, the gallery was for a short time transformed into a shifting mass in which different temporal layers of the place came into a shared resonance.
