Louise Frydman
Born in Paris, France, Louise Frydman (1989) is an internationally recognized artist known for her ceramic sculptures and installations. She studied Art Direction at the ESAG Penninghen Academy in Paris and photography at the International Center of Photography in New York. Since 2015 she has focused primarily on ceramics. A pivotal moment in her career came with the creation of the monumental suspended installation La Fée Pétale (The Petal Fairy, 2015), commissioned for the courtyard of the Hôtel de Croisilles in Paris. Thanks to their ability to create a strong visual and emotional atmosphere, her pieces often become part of architectural settings or scenographic projects. Her work is inspired by nature – its poetry, and rhythm, whether in the movement of wind, water, or the growth of plants. Frydmanʼs compositions are characterized by the dominance of white, organic forms, and repetition. Her sculptures and bas-reliefs lead to a contemplative state, drawing the viewer into a quiet meditation on the ephemeral beauty of the world. Light plays a central role in her work, revealing the matteness of the white, creating reliefs and movement. This particular attention to light comes directly from her background in photography. Frydman has exhibited at several prestigious fairs in Europe and abroad (Paris, Lisbon, Madrid, Beijing), and her work is represented in France (Paris) and the United States (New York, Los Angeles). She collaborates with renowned architects and luxury houses such as Hermès, Dior, Bonpoint, and Clarins. In 2019 Frydman received an award from the French Minister of Culture for her project with Vinci Immobilier. Her pieces are part of international collections such as LVMH or ICAA Blanc de Chine in China.
