We are a gallery focused on contemporary art and are looking for a curator of contemporary art who will work closely with our chief curator on the gallery’s exhibition and business activities. We are looking for someone who is well-versed in contemporary art and also understands the art business or has experience in the investment environment.

What you will do:

• Curatorship work – preparation of exhibitions, communication with artists, selection of works from studios, cooperation on exhibition concepts and accompanying programs, preparation of texts for the catalog and PR texts, commented tours
• Collaboration with artists – communication with renowned Czech and foreign contemporary artists
• Support of the gallery’s business activities – cooperation on the sale of works of art, communication with collectors, and in the future also participation in the exhibition plan, guiding visitors around the gallery, communication with clients in the gallery
• Representation of the gallery – participation in openings, auctions and other cultural events; occasionally abroad
• Assistance in the production of exhibition projects
• Office work – occasional office work – basic administrative work, support for meetings of gallery owners and top management in the office
• Opportunity to occasionally participate in foreign trade fairs

Who we are looking for:

• The position is also suitable for recent university graduates – we are happy to provide an opportunity for growth.
• Education in art history, art management or other relevant fields (a combination of both is preferred).
• Experience with curatorial work and exhibition production is an advantage, but not a necessity.
• Interest in contemporary art and an overview of the art scene.
• At least basic experience with the art trade or investment environment or demonstrable orientation in this direction.
• Flexibility, independence, loyalty, the ability to multitask and collective cooperation are essential.
• Fluent English is a requirement, other languages ​​are welcome.
• Driving license category B.
• Flexibility and willingness to work in the physical space of the gallery at least 3 days a week.
